Brevidistanze - Andrea Mangione

Brevidistanze è un progetto che nasce a Catania nel 2007 dalla collaborazione tra Andrea e Marco Mangione. Il nome deriva da una riflessione sull’arte, associabile anche alla vicinanza di idee e sensazioni che intercorre tra due gemelli.

Nei progetti è visibile il desiderio di coabitare uno spazio espositivo, formulare un luogo unico per la rappresentazione di visioni multiple, che tendono a un insieme, dove è possibile l’accostamento di diversi linguaggi espressivi.

Immagini in espansione, a dispetto della loro fermezza, inserite in contesti dove possono coabitare diverse tematiche. Da queste esigenze nasce l’idea del set, la formulazione di un progetto che sia aperto ad altri codici che permettono di mettere in scena l’idea. Un luogo deputato alla rappresentazione, che crea interazioni, associazioni possibili, nuovi collegamenti. La scrittura vivente di un percorso d’indagine che non può essere chiuso in una storia specifica, bensì in contesti aperti, che ne liberano le possibilità di lettura.

Brevidistanze is a project born in Catania in 2007 from the collaboration between Andrea and Marco Mangione. The name comes from a reflection on art, it’s also associated to the proximity of ideas and feelings between two twins.

In projects the desire to live together the exhibition space is visible, formulating a unique place for the representation of multiple views, which tend to a set, where the combination of different forms of expression is possible.

Expanding images, despite their firmness, inserted in contexts where they can live different relationships. The idea of set was born from this need, the formulation of a project that is open to other codes that allow you to stage the idea. A place dedicated to the representation, which creates interactions, possible associations, new links. The living writing of a path of inquiry that can not be closed in a specific history, but in open contexts, to make free the possibilities to feel the images.
